Olivia Barber

MA, ERYT500, YACEP, ICMTA, ISMETA, Certified SomaSource LifeCycles Practitioner

I am a Columbia University-trained educational psychologist, yoga therapist and certified somatic educator with a passion for trauma informed nervous system science and embodied emotional literacy.

With over 20 years of practice and experience I skillfully integrate applied neuroscience, modern psychology, and ancient body-based practice to create transformational learning experiences.

As an interdisciplinary educator and coach, I have created methodologies to build embodied emotional literacy, develop healthier relationships, navigate challenging conversations, and prevent and resolve conflict. I have a deep passion for supporting people as they become more human, more compassionate, and more connected.

My primary mentors and teachers are Melissa Michaels, Linda Lantieri, BK Bose, Livia Shapiro, Hala Khouri, Seane Corn, Janet Stone, Rev. angel Kyodo Williams and TJ Burleigh. Additionally, my work has been deeply and profoundly influenced by: adrienne maree brown, Staci Haines, Kazu Haga, Prentis Hemphill, Desmond Tutu, Gabrielle Roth, Joanna Macy and Resmaa Menakem.

Inspired by redwoods, novels, and the ocean you can usually find me barefoot in my garden, dancing to some funky bass lines or curled up with a good book.
